Norsk Høstfest

Norsk Høstfest, North America's largest Scandinavian Festival, is celebrating its 30th year, starting the evening of October 9th-13th. Tens of thousands of people attend the event annually to celebrate and partake in the Scandinavian culture and entertainment.

Over 200 internationally recognized artisans, craftsmen and chefs participate. The experience is an eclectic array of contemporary and traditional. The cuisine as well as the clothes, art and jewelry are authentic, fine quality and exquisitely Nordic.

 

Norsk Dakota State Fair

Minot is the host to the North Dakota State Fair and welcomes more than a quarter of a million people each year. Lasting 9 days in July, it is North Dakota's main summer event, and features exhibits, livestock shows, carnival activities and big name entertainment.

The 2009 North Dakota State Fair is July 24-August 1, and it promises to create lasting memories for the young and the young at heart.

 

Roosevelt Park Zoo

Roosevelt Park Zoo's efforts to provide a quality zoological park for the enjoyment and education of its visitors through educational programs and displays, conservation awareness, promotion, and fund raising.

Roosevelt Park Zoo houses the largest collection of exotic animals between Minneapolis and Seattle. More than 200 animals are on exhibit. The Park also has a swimming pool with waterslide, tennis cours, picnic shelters, a band shell for free concerts and a skateboard park.

The Roosevelt Park Zoo was voted 2005 Best Local Attraction & Best Place in Minot by the Minot Daily News reader's poll.
